Style

GRAPHICS

Black graphic panels put a bold twist on the signature GASGAS red, with a clean white logo standing out against the dark background. Blacked-out touches on the seat cover, handlebar and rims pull the look together, and durable IML technology bonds the graphics into the bodywork so the bike stays sharp-looking ride after ride.

BODYWORK

Red with sharp black detailing, the bodywork is genuinely ergonomic — broad contact surfaces let you grip the bike with your legs and move around freely to ride with proper technique. A grippy black seat cover keeps you locked in exactly where you need to be when you’re on the gas.

HANDLEBARS

Neken handlebars are now black and clamp into redesigned bar mounts that resist twisting in a fall, with lock-on, medium-compound ODI grips fitted for a comfortable set-up that suits most riders. A new black-and-red bar pad adds a touch of style along with extra protection.

AIRBOX

A tool-free filter mounting system means less time wrenching and more time riding. The one-piece air intake is stronger and built for maximum airflow — and therefore maximum power — while popping off the left side panel still gets you straight to the filter for a quick inspection or change.

FUEL TANK

Slim, transparent and built to last, the fuel tank sits neatly inside the red bodywork, held firmly by a robust rubber support that also shields the frame from wear. An integrated fuel pump lets the tank run down further before you need to refuel, and a protective cap now keeps dirt and knocks away from the fuel connector.

FOOTPEGS

A bigger platform gives you more to plant your boots on and better control, and a new mounting design tucks the pegs further inward on the frame so they’re less likely to catch the edge of a deep rut.

Handling

FRAME

The current frame balances razor-sharp handling with just enough flex to stay comfortable. Lightweight motor mounts fine-tune the feel without touching straight-line stability, and smart material changes — a slimmed-down upper shock mount and reduced wall thickness up front — shave off 300g. It’s a setup developed alongside the GASGAS Factory Racing team, and it stays planted so you can push harder through every turn.

SUBFRAME

The all-aluminium subframe is light and strong, working as one with the mainframe to centralise mass and add significantly to the bike’s overall handling.

TRIPLE CLAMPS

Forged aluminium triple clamps build in just enough calculated flex, via a more forgiving steering stem, to keep the fork tubes properly aligned for smooth action and better front-wheel feedback on any terrain. Adjustable bar mounts with a slightly larger contact area cut the risk of the bars twisting, and a glass-bead-blasted finish keeps the clamps looking new.

WP FORKS

Up front, WP XPLOR Open Cartridge forks soak up the bumps with ease. Model-specific internal settings and a split-piston design deliver consistent damping across all terrain, with compression adjusted on the left fork leg and rebound on the right — both easily dialled in by hand so riders of any level can fine-tune the suspension quickly.

WP SHOCK

At the rear, the WP XACT shock offers 300mm of travel, paired with a linkage system tuned for traction and comfort in enduro riding. A dual compression control concept and a rebound adjuster (tunable by hand or tool) combine with a pressure-balanced design and low-friction seals for consistent damping and strong energy absorption, even in the roughest conditions.

SWINGARM

Cast from a single piece of aluminium, the swingarm looks as good as it performs. A strong chain slider adds durability and keeps the chain running smoothly for longer, while the rear chain guide’s rounded profile helps it glide over the ground through deep, rutted turns. Clear chain adjustment markings make maintenance quick.

Motor

MOTOR

It’s our biggest-capacity, most powerful enduro bike yet, but the EC 500 motor is still a genuine pleasure to ride. Every current engineering technique has gone into this lightweight SOHC engine to deliver a smooth, usable spread of power from bottom to top.

CYLINDER & PISTON

Engineered specifically for performance, the cylinder and bridged-box-type CP piston work together to produce strong torque and peak power. Both are made from high-strength aluminium, so reliability was never left to chance.

CYLINDER HEAD

There’s a lot of engineering packed into this SOHC cylinder head. Light and compact, it’s built for maximum enduro performance, with machined intake ports boosting torque, plus a fine-punched cam chain and a Diamond-Like-Carbon-coated rocker arm for long-term reliability.

TRANSMISSION

A wide-ratio, six-speed, enduro-specific transmission lets you take on any terrain or obstacle with confidence. Shifts stay smooth and dependable in every condition, helped by a gear lever shaped to keep mud from building up around it.

CRANKSHAFT

The crankshaft is central to the EC 500F’s traction and rideability, and to how agile the bike feels between the trees. A plain big-end bearing made from two force-fitted shells gives it long service intervals along with strong reliability and durability.

COUNTER BALANCER SHAFT

A compact, multifunctional counter balancer shaft counteracts the crankshaft’s rotational force to cut unwanted vibration, while also driving the water pump and timing chain.

CRANKCASE

A thin-wall design, made possible by high-pressure die-casting, keeps the crankcases light without giving up strength. Moving parts inside are laid out to centralise mass, which plays a big part in making this bike so much fun to ride.

EXHAUST SYSTEM

Built for enduro-specific power and FIM sound compliance, the four-stroke header pipes wrap tightly around the motor to stay out of harm’s way while delivering strong performance at the lowest possible weight. A two-piece design means they can be removed without pulling the rear shock, and the compact aluminium silencer runs a raw finish — because it’s going to pick up scratches eventually anyway.

DDS CLUTCH

For better clutch action and improved durability in a compact package, the EC 500F runs a Damped Diaphragm Steel (DDS) clutch with a hydraulic BRAKTEC system. A single diaphragm steel pressure plate replaces the usual coil springs, and a built-in damping system boosts traction and longevity, while an optimised oil feed keeps the clutch cool under load, reducing fade even on the toughest trails.

Parts

BRAKES

Enduro riding demands strong stopping power just as often as speed, which is why every GASGAS enduro model runs the latest BRAKTEC brake calipers and controls. A 260mm front disc and 220mm rear disc deliver seriously impressive braking, giving riders the confidence to push harder, ride faster and brake later.

HYDRAULIC CLUTCH

Technical sections demand consistent clutch performance, which is exactly why every GASGAS enduro bike runs a quality BRAKTEC hydraulic clutch system. The lever stays extremely light to pull, reducing fatigue, and self-adjusting free play means the biting point feels the same all day, every day.

RADIATORS

A cool-running motor is a reliable motor, so GASGAS enduro bikes run a compact, efficient cooling system with aluminium radiators mounted close to the centre of gravity for agile handling. The integrated design cuts out unnecessary hoses to keep things slim, and a radiator fan kicks in during slow, technical sections to keep temperatures in check.

WHEELS

Built to take a beating, these wheels are ready for rough treatment. Black, CNC-machined hubs, lightweight spokes and high-strength rims deliver maximum strength for peace of mind, no matter how heavy the landing or rough the track.

TIRES

Grip you can rely on — a Maxxis MaxxEnduro up front and a softer Maxxis MaxxEnduro Soft at the rear are ready to tackle any terrain. The softer rear compound boosts traction when it counts, and both tyres deliver the durability and performance needed to stay on the gas for longer.

Electronics

ENGINE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (EMS)

Small, light and fast at processing data, the Engine Management System constantly measures, calculates and fine-tunes how the motor runs, so you can stay focused on the trail. It also enables two engine maps, Traction Control and a Quickshifter, all switchable from the handlebar-mounted Map Select Switch, plus a rollover sensor that stops the motor if the bike ends up upside down — which, in enduro, happens.

LED LIGHT

The LED headlight throws out almost three times the brightness of a traditional bulb, a genuine advantage deep in dense woodland. If the mask or headlight takes a hit, the two-piece design means you only replace the damaged part.

THROTTLE BODY

The EC 500F runs a 42mm Keihin throttle body with injectors positioned for the most efficient fuel-air flow into the combustion chamber, and a direct cable mounting system that delivers genuinely immediate throttle response.

OFFROAD CONTROL UNIT (OCU)

The Offroad Control Unit simplifies everything electrical by replacing the old-school relays and fuses. Tucked safely under the seat, it flags any electrical fault by switching a corresponding LED from green to red, so you can diagnose the issue quickly and get back to riding.

ELECTRIC STARTER

Start and stop functions now share a single housing on the right-hand side of the handlebars for simpler operation. A lightweight lithium-ion battery powers the starter motor, firing the bike into life quickly and reliably the moment you hit the button.
