Faster and wiser

Engine

Every major engine component and shaft is positioned close to the centre of gravity to reduce the effects of rotational inertia and deliver class-leading handling. The 250cc four-stroke engine produces 47hp yet weighs just over 26kg, staying genuinely powerful with strong torque that suits riders of every ability.

DOHC cylinder head

Finger followers treated with a diamond-like carbon (DLC) coating help this DOHC cylinder head deliver high-level performance with real durability. Titanium intake valves (32.5mm) and exhaust valves (27.5mm) optimise gas flow, letting the FC 250 rev freely and produce strong, efficient power right through to its 14,000rpm limit.

Cylinder and piston

An 81mm cylinder houses a forged, bridged-box-type CP piston weighing just 150g. Both are made from high-strength aluminium and engineered for genuine performance and reliability, with a 48.5mm stroke matched to the resized cylinder to produce a 14.5:1 compression ratio for exceptional torque and peak power.

Crankcases

The crankcases are shaped to centralise mass by positioning every internal component for the ideal centre of gravity. High-pressure die-casting delivers a thin, exceptionally strong wall at the lowest possible weight.

DS clutch

A highly reliable diaphragm steel (DS) clutch is built from a single piece of CNC-machined steel. Thin steel liners inside the basket help keep the engine compact overall — and this clutch is robust enough that the same components are used in the far more powerful FC 450.

Gearbox

Pankl Racing Systems builds this five-speed gearbox to be light and durable, with motocross-specific gear ratios (24:72) proven on track. A Quickshifter sensor built into the shift drum activates via the QS button on the Map Select Switch for smoother upshifts.

Ride easier

Lightweight frame

Material is optimised around the steering head and upper shock mount to deliver confident handling and stability into corners. A premium metallic-blue powder coating finishes the chromium-molybdenum chassis, and frame protectors guard the paintwork while adding extra grip in tough conditions.

Polyamide-reinforced aluminium subframe

Built from 60% polyamide and 40% aluminium, the two-piece subframe delivers real strength and durability at just 1.8kg. Cast-aluminium lower spars and frame mounts boost reliability, while the injection-moulded polyamide upper section is tuned for specific flex characteristics and low weight.

CNC machined triple clamps

CNC-machined triple clamps work with the frame and suspension setup to deliver precisely calculated geometry for stability. The handlebar clamp offers rubber-damped mounting for reduced vibration or a fixed option for sharper front-end feedback, and a stiffer upper clamp smooths fork action while keeping the front wheel properly aligned.

WP XACT front suspension

Rigorously tested by WP’s R&D department, the 48mm WP XACT closed-cartridge spring forks deliver genuine comfort. Mid-valve pistons inside optimise oil flow and resist foaming for consistent, predictable damping, and a hydrostop active through the final 40mm of travel softens harsh, high-speed landings. Compression and rebound both adjust by hand via clickers on top of each fork leg.

WP XACT shock absorber

The WP XACT rear shock uses a CFD-optimised main piston for strong initial comfort and predictable performance in any condition, with rebound and both high- and low-speed compression all hand-adjustable for a personalised setup.

Swingarm

The swingarm is die-cast with a calculated level of rigidity, and a 22mm rear wheel axle further tunes the chassis’ flex characteristics. A durable chain slider is integrated neatly into the swingarm to keep the chain running smoothly through deeply rutted corners.

Effortless ergonomics

Functional bodywork

Extensive testing shaped this ergonomic bodywork to help riders perform at their best race after race. Smooth contact points in the rider triangle let you grip the bike tightly with your legs to cut fatigue, in-mould graphics on the radiator shrouds keep the progressive look intact, and a tall, wide seat gives unrestricted movement. A high-grip seat cover keeps you securely in place under hard acceleration.

Airbox

A strong, one-piece airbox resists deformation to keep air intake unrestricted for maximum power, without compromising filter protection. The Twin Air filter is easy to check without tools — just remove the left side panel.

Hydraulic clutch

The high-performance Brembo hydraulic clutch delivers even wear, near-maintenance-free operation and consistent action in any condition. Free play is continuously compensated, so the pressure point and feel stay identical whether the bike’s cold or hot, and however long you’ve owned it — a reliability proven over countless hours of race-focused testing.

Hydraulic brakes

Class-leading Brembo brake calipers, machined from single pieces of aluminium for strength, are fitted front and rear for strong stopping power. Paired with 260mm front and 220mm rear discs designed to resist mud build-up, braking stays effective in any condition, and the tough rear brake pedal is more resistant to damage through deep ruts.

ProTaper handlebar

Developed jointly by Husqvarna Motorcycles and ProTaper, this exclusive bend delivers strong comfort, class-leading strength and fatigue resistance at minimal weight.

ODI grips

ODI lock-on grips fit without glue and feature an integrated throttle mechanism with easy free-play adjustment, plus the option to fit alternative throttle cams for a personalised feel.

Footrests

CFD-designed footrests are extra wide for better control, yet shaped to be less likely to catch on deep ruts, take-offs or trackside barriers, thanks to a narrower frame mounting design that also trims overall weight.

Master your art

Wheels and tyres

CNC-machined hubs, strong spokes and high-strength, black-anodised D.I.D alloy rims make up the wheels, wrapped in the latest Dunlop MX34 tyres — precise cornering up front, strong traction across varied terrain at the rear.

Exhaust system

Made from lightweight aluminium, the exhaust system uses a flow-designed resonance chamber built into the header pipe. The silencer is short and compact, delivering strong power output while keeping noise levels down, and finished in a premium black coating.

Cooling system

High-strength aluminium radiators are shaped using Computational Fluid Dynamics to move air through as efficiently as possible. A large centre tube through the frame reduces pressure for consistent coolant flow, an internal thermostat adds reliability, and a threaded radiator cap makes checking coolant level before a ride quick and easy.

Fuel tank

The 7.2-litre fuel tank sits neatly within the ergonomic bodywork, cushioned by a strong rubber support that protects the frame from wear. The external fuel line is routed to stay out of harm’s way, and a protective cap on the fuel filter keeps dirt, water and impact damage out of the system.

Technologically advanced

Map select switch

The intuitive, handlebar-mounted Map Select Switch lets riders activate Launch Control and Traction Control, enable the Quickshifter, and toggle between two engine maps. It’s an easy way to change engine characteristics race by race, depending on track conditions and personal preference.

Quickshift

The Quickshifter switches on or off via the Map Select Switch and briefly interrupts ignition on each upshift. A sensor on the shift drum reads force from the shift lever and signals the ECU for smooth gear changes even at full throttle, and it only activates from second gear upward to avoid unintended shifts or false neutrals.

Traction Control

Press the ‘TC’ button on the Map Select Switch to engage Traction Control, which reads throttle input alongside how quickly engine RPM rises. If RPM climbs too fast, the engine management system recognises a loss of grip and cuts power to the rear wheel — a real advantage in wet or muddy conditions.

Launch Control

With the engine idling, pressing the Traction Control and Quickshifter buttons together engages Launch Control, with both symbols flashing to confirm it’s active. Power to the rear wheel is limited to improve traction and prevent loss of control under hard acceleration, and it deactivates automatically after the first gear change (the Quickshifter is also disabled while Launch Control is on).

Mapping

Two built-in engine maps come as standard for personalised power delivery. Map 1 (white) gives linear, predictable power, while Map 2 (green) sharpens throttle response for a more aggressive, explosive feel.

EMS

The Engine Management System is built to be small, light and fast at processing data, and includes a rollover sensor that cuts ignition and shuts down the engine after a severe crash for an extra layer of safety.

Hour meter

An integrated fuel level indicator on the hour meter shows on the FI status LED, warning you when fuel is running low.

Start/stop switch

A combined start/stop switch sits on the right side of the handlebar for easy thumb operation. Removing a separate stop-only button also cuts the risk of accidental damage or activation in a fall.

Electric start

A lightweight starter motor and compact battery setup make starting the engine, or recovering from a stall, as simple as pressing a button.
