Lightweight, narrow bodywork curves tightly around the chassis for seamless rider movement, while a dark demeanour, rugged tyres and protective touches like the flyscreen and skid plate give it an undeniably distinctive look.

Lights

Front and rear LED lights improve illumination, especially in low light, using the latest LED technology for genuinely enhanced visibility and safer riding through urban environments. A distinctive LED positioning ring on the front light rounds out the premium look.

Handlebar

Offroad-style handlebars and risers pair with stylish forged aluminium triple clamps, staying true to the minimalist design with a large 5″ TFT display showing speed, fuel level, riding mode and selected gear.

Tank

A perfectly formed 13-litre fuel tank includes a standard luggage rack for genuinely practical carrying, with a tank cover that blends seamlessly into the side panels for unrestricted movement, finished with an aluminium filler cap carrying the iconic Husqvarna logo.

Single cylinder

A remarkable single-cylinder engine powers the Svartpilen 401, engineered with more displacement and less weight than the previous generation. Remarkably compact, it contributes to genuinely refined handling with smooth, controllable power.

Easy Shift

Easy Shift keeps every gear change smooth — the EMS detects movement on the gear lever and briefly limits power for a clean shift, removing the need for the clutch entirely for a genuinely simplified ride.

Brakes

Hydraulic ByBre callipers pair with a 320mm front disc and 240mm rear disc, backed by a state-of-the-art Bosch cornering-sensitive ABS system with a Supermoto mode that disengages rear ABS — all built to the highest standard for genuinely confidence-inspiring, controllable braking in any situation.

Ride modes

Multiple electronic rider aids boost usability, with Street and Rain power settings — Street engaged by default, Rain dialling back throttle response for adverse conditions — plus a speed limiter that caps maximum speed even at full throttle.

Exhaust

A fully redesigned exhaust meets EURO 5+ regulations via a double catalyser system, built from high-strength steel for a genuine 2kg weight saving over the previous generation, finished with a premium matt black silencer that suits the Svartpilen’s distinctive style.

Motorcycle traction control

Motorcycle Traction Control reads lean angle data from an integrated 3D sensor in real time, adapting to the selected Street or Rain mode to help maintain grip through every corner — or switch off entirely for advanced riders who want a livelier, slide-friendly ride.

The feeling

Frame

A steel trellis frame is fundamental to the Svartpilen 401’s character and agility, with hydro-formed tubes robot-welded together for genuine strength at low weight. Specific flex is engineered in, and paired with WP suspension, the result is a genuinely comfortable ride with nimble handling and detailed feedback.

Suspension

WP suspension is built to the highest standard of quality and craftsmanship. 43mm WP APEX open-cartridge forks up front adjust compression and rebound with 150mm of travel, while the rear shock matches that travel with a progressive spring soaking up bumps of any size, adjustable preload and rebound, and a direct swingarm connection for genuinely heightened feedback.

Ergonomics

Revised ergonomics deliver a genuinely enhanced ride — a slightly longer wheelbase improves stability without losing agility, a 15mm lower seat brings the rider closer to the centre of gravity, and a revised triple clamp offset rounds out a confidence-inspiring riding position for every rider.

Wheels and tyres

17″ spoked wheels are a genuine design highlight, proven robust and reliable for style, strength and stability, fitted with Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres for exceptional grip and predictability across varied surfaces.

Swingarm

A completely redesigned cast aluminium swingarm accommodates the relocated off-centre WP shock, with calculated rigidity for improved stability and predictable handling — its curved shape adding a modern look while creating extra room for the silencer.

The tech

Connectivity

A standard-fit Connectivity Unit unlocks genuine functionality once a smartphone connects via Bluetooth — answer calls, play music, and follow Turn-by-Turn navigation on the dashboard through the Ride Husqvarna Motorcycles app. RemoteControl Mode lets riders control the app from the handlebar buttons and lays the groundwork for upcoming features.

TFT dashboard

A 5″ TFT dashboard with a bonded glass screen puts essential information at a glance — travelling speed, fuel level and selected gear — controlled via backlight switch cubes on the left handlebar.

Anti-theft

An immobiliser comes fitted as standard for genuine anti-theft protection.

Service

A smart engine layout genuinely improves performance, reliability and serviceability, with every filter positioned on the same side of the engine for faster, simpler maintenance. Oil, oil filter and air filter need replacing only every 10,000km, after an initial oil change at 1,000km.
