The FE 501 sits at the top of the Husqvarna enduro range as its most powerful model. Advanced electronics let riders tailor power delivery to their own preferences for genuine control, while shaft arrangements positioned close to the centre of gravity, WP suspension and an agile chassis combine for highly responsive handling. A Pankl Racing Systems six-speed gearbox engages a dedicated engine map for every gear, and Swedish-inspired graphics over functional bodywork round out a genuinely distinctive look.

MPE Motorcycles is an authorised Husqvarna dealer based in Baringa on the Sunshine Coast, with genuine parts and factory-trained technicians on hand whenever you need them. Come see the FE 501 in person, or get in touch to talk finance, trade-ins and availability.

Progressive performance

Engine

The FE 501 carries the most powerful engine in the Husqvarna FE line-up, drawing on advanced engineering to deliver maximum performance. It’s positioned in the frame to help the chassis’ anti-squat behaviour and centralise mass, staying light at 29.5kg while producing a peak output of 64hp.

Cylinder head

This SOHC cylinder head is remarkably compact and lightweight, with the camshaft sitting as close to the centre of gravity as possible. A durable, fine-punched cam chain and a DLC-coated rocker arm add efficiency and reliability, a single oil spray jet keeps things cool, and valve timing is tuned for maximum torque and smooth delivery.

Cylinder and piston

This lightweight aluminium cylinder is a genuine engineering achievement, with a 95mm bore and 72mm stroke. Inside, the forged CP bridged-box-type piston uses anodised annular grooves for added durability and longer service intervals, with compression held at 12.75:1.

Crankcases

Kept deliberately light without giving up strength or reliability, the crankcases use a high-pressure die-cast process for a thin-wall design. Shaft arrangements are precisely positioned to centralise engine mass at the ideal centre of gravity.

Throttle body

A 42mm Keihin throttle body is optimised for sharp throttle response on the FE 501, with the injector positioned for efficient flow into the combustion chamber and the throttle cable mounted directly, without a linkage, for enhanced feel.

Exhaust

The exhaust system is engineered for class-leading performance at minimal weight, with a two-piece header pipe that can be removed without disturbing the rear shock. A short, compact silencer keeps sound levels in check without sacrificing performance, finished in lightweight aluminium with a premium black coating.

State-of-the-art chassis

Frame

Material is distributed carefully around the steering head and upper shock mount, giving the frame confidence-inspiring handling and stable, predictable cornering. The chromium-molybdenum chassis wears a premium metallic blue powder coat, finished off with frame protectors that guard the paintwork while giving riders extra grip in tough conditions.

Hybrid subframe

Built from 60% polyamide and 40% aluminium, the hybrid subframe delivers real strength and durability at just 1.8kg. Cast aluminium lower spars and frame mounts provide reliability, while an injection-moulded polyamide upper section is tuned for specific flex characteristics.

Swingarm

Die-cast for a calculated level of rigidity, the swingarm works with a 22mm rear wheel axle to fine-tune the chassis’ flex characteristics. An integrated chain slider keeps the chain running smoothly through deep, rutted corners.

Bodywork

Ergonomic bodywork is shaped from extensive testing to help riders perform at their best, lap after lap. Smooth contact points in the rider triangle let you grip the bike tightly with your legs to reduce fatigue, radiator shrouds with in-mould graphics keep the look sharp, and a tall, wide seat with a high-grip cover gives unrestricted movement and keeps you planted under hard acceleration.

Fueltank

An 8-litre fuel tank sits neatly within the ergonomic bodywork on a robust rubber cushion that holds it firmly in place and protects the frame from wear, while the external fuel line is routed to stay clear of damage.

Triple clamps

Black-anodised and CNC-machined for premium quality, the triple clamps use a carefully calculated 22mm offset. The handlebar clamp offers a large contact surface with the ProTaper bars to resist twisting in a crash, with two mounting positions for customisable ergonomics.

Innovative advantage

WP XACT front forks

Purpose-built for enduro, the 48mm WP XACT closed-cartridge forks use lightweight, polished-finish springs and mid-valve pistons to optimise oil flow and resist foaming for consistent damping. A one-piece hydrostop active through the final 68mm of travel helps maintain momentum on heavy landings, and tool-free adjusters at the top and bottom of each leg let you dial in compression and rebound in seconds.

WP XACT rear shock

A Computational Fluid Dynamics-optimised main piston gives the WP XACT rear shock genuine initial comfort and predictable performance in any condition, with rebound and both high- and low-speed compression adjustable by hand for a fully personalised set-up.

Hydraulic brakes

Class-leading Brembo callipers, machined from single pieces of aluminium, deliver strong stopping power front and rear via 260mm and 220mm discs designed to resist mud build-up. A durable rear brake pedal shrugs off the knocks of riding through deep ruts.

Hydraulic clutch

The Brembo hydraulic clutch delivers even wear, near-maintenance-free operation and consistent feel in any condition. Free play is continuously compensated, so the pressure point stays identical whether the bike is cold or hot — a reliability proven over countless hours of testing on these Italian-made systems.

Wheels and tyres

CNC-machined hubs, strong spokes and black-anodised, high-strength alloy rims form the wheel package, wrapped in the latest Michelin rubber for precise cornering and strong grip across varied terrain.

Cooling system

CFD-engineered, high-strength aluminium radiators channel air efficiently even in extreme conditions, backed by a standard-fit fan. A large centre tube routed through the frame reduces system pressure for consistent coolant flow, an internal thermostat adds reliability, and a threaded radiator cap makes checking coolant level easy before every ride.

Technology advanced

LED headlight

A bright LED headlight delivers excellent visibility at night, particularly through dense woodland, and mounts inside the headlight mask on a quick-release system so it can be swapped in seconds if damaged.

Map Select Switch

The handlebar-mounted Map Select Switch lets you flick between two EFI maps, switch Traction Control on or off, and engage the Quickshifter. Traction Control reads throttle input alongside how fast engine RPM rises, cutting power to the rear wheel the moment it detects a loss of grip, while the Quickshifter delivers seamless upshifts under load — all from the same switch.

Quickshift

Turn the Quickshifter on or off via the Map Select Switch. It briefly interrupts the ignition to allow full-throttle upshifts without touching the clutch, and only activates from second gear upward.

Electric start

Borrowed from the motocross range, the combined start/stop switch sits on the right side of the handlebar for easy thumb operation. Dropping a separate stop-only button also reduces the risk of accidental damage or activation in a fall.

Footrest

Shaped using computational fluid dynamics, the large footrests are built for maximum control and resist mud build-up, with an inward mounting position that keeps them less exposed to catching on the ground through deep ruts.

Airbox

Precisely positioned inlet ducts reduce airflow deformation, giving the airbox unrestricted flow with maximum filter protection. The Twin Air filter mounts on a cage designed for accurate fitment and can be reached tool-free by removing the left side panel.
